Footprints

The snow slopes of Mount Spearman, Canada, in the BC coastal range.

To get to our basecamp at the foot of Mount Waddington in Canada we had to drive 12 hours north of Vancouver and then fly 45 minutes in a helicopter. The helicopter base was itself three hours from the nearest town.

We set up base camp on the glacier, but spent three nights in a snowhole high on the mountain, burrowed into the ridge you can see in this picture.
