I probably shoot far too many images like this, but I liked the way this one turned out – including the burnt out patch over the sun and the touch of lens flare.
It was taken on the summit ridge of Buachaille Etive Mor in the Scottish Highlands after completing a route on its north face.
The wind-eroded snow on the left of the picture can be seen in more detail here.

I do like it – though I have to confess I prefer the one where the climber is trudging along rather than this more posed / poised moment of reflection. The figure looked more human, and more lost somehow, in the wilderness.
This might say more about me than the photo!
Hi Joanna, Yes I know what you mean. A posed figure in a shot like this is always in danger of looking at odds with the landscape. I’ll tell my climbing partner to work on his trudging over the posing. Thanks for the comment
You say you probably have too many like this, but I don’t know how you could have enough! You really have a way of capturing the lighting in your photos. Beautiful!
