Mountaineer and guide Al Hinkes was the first Briton to climb all 14 8,000m peaks. He completed the last summit – Kanchenjunga – in 2005.

I took this shot in the Lost Valley, Glen Coe, in May, but as you can see the weather was pretty wintry.
