It’s a beautiful picture of your daughter, and yes, of independence too My only bit of feedback would be it’s a little hard to see it’s a beach, it’s so white / bright… is there anything you can do with that? (She says, with no technical / photographic knowledge at all..)

Hi Joanna, Thanks for the comment and feedback. The image was taken in quite flat overcast light, so I deliberately overexposed it to improve the contrast and make it less dull looking. I pushed the exposure even further in Photoshop – perhaps I went a bit too far. I did initially consider burning the beach out altogether at one point!
